The Garden of Shadows is a duo of shadow puppeteers from Guayaquil, Ecuador made up of artists Dennis Darquea-Bossano and Estefanía Villacís Padilla with 18 years of existence. Their national and international tour is extensive, they have been on stages in Monterrey, Mexico City, New York, New Jersey, Boston, Auckland and Wellington, New Zealand.

Their last successful tour in the United States during 2025, with their children's play "The Three Little Pigs", led them to give more than 80 shows in important early education centers and libraries in New York, New Jersey and Boston. They were also invited to appear at the Arts Council of Princeton within the framework of the Sustainable Film Festival of Princeton, New Jersey.

In New Zealand they toured extensively throughout the country for two years with their shadow puppet theater adaptations of the folk legends "Maui and the Fish", "Maui and the Sun" and "The Taniwha of the Wellington Harbour" giving more than 300 shows in the country.

In Ecuador they have produced two major premieres and school tours together with the Sánchez Aguilar Theater of the plays "Snow White and the Curse of the Looking Glass" and "Alice in Wonderland" calling for thousands of children to enjoy these unique adaptations full of music and magic.

Likewise, they have worked with the Municipality of Guayaquil in the adaptation of the local legend "La Dama Tapada" giving dozens of shows for schools with few resources and access to culture. Also, together with the Prefecture of the province of Guayas, they gave more than 30 shows in impoverished cantons within the province, performing for hundreds of low-income families with their Christmas play "Villancicos Vivientes."

Known for their creative use of recycling to generate art, they have caused great amazement and demand in first world countries for their original combination of shadow puppet theater with recycled elements, live music and the use of storytelling.
